while the Von Zipper team was still hard at work in the wee hours Saturday morning, a tropical storm blew through Southern California and Angels Stadium. The rain caused the delay to the start Anaheim one, but the plastic tarps were finally pulled back at 4:30 p.m. to kick-off the start of the 2008 monster energy AMA Supercross serious. In the second litres heat of the night the gate were stacked with some pristine Von Zipper goggles. Yamaha of Troy's Jason Lawrence took the holeshot and never looked back. Lawrence went on for the win, as his team-mate at Zach Osbourne followed him through much of the race to finish in 4th. Von Zipper also said Cycra's Mike Willard and MDK/Budweiser select pilot Jeff Northrop to the 15 lap main event will stop in the Lites LCQ, Eric McCrummen, took the early lead, with clear vision through its Bushwick frames. On the last lap, Andrew McFarlane made a move on McCrummen to take over the top spot, but it was short lived as McCrummen fired right back with a last-second pass to take the win. And now for what everyone was waiting for the Lites main event. Von Zipper sent five riders to the 22 man gate, with 28 tear offs, or roll offs for their 15 lap muddy main event festivities. When the gate dropped Jason Lawrence charge to the front after a so-so start and took over the lead by lap five. On lap eight, Laurence got bottleneck behind some lapped riders and was are not able to jump a triple. After another bobble on the same lap Justin Brayton on past Lawrence for the second spot. But Lawrence battled his way back by Brayton after another lack of action. Jason Lawrence was able to regroup and close to a second-place finish. Von Zipper and Jason Lawrence one for one on podium, with more to come watch for the 2008 Von Zipper Moto Tour coming to a track near you
